What Is Relational Life Therapy (RLT)?

Developed by renowned therapist Terry Real, RLT is a bold, direct, and transformative approach to couples therapy. It helps partners identify toxic relational patterns, speak truthfully (yet compassionately), and take radical personal responsibility for their role in the relationship.

RLT doesn’t waste time with vague communication exercises—it gets to the heart of the matter. Together, we explore your history, your triggers, and the beliefs that block intimacy and connection. Then, we help you replace those patterns with new relational skills rooted in respect, vulnerability, and repair.

What to Expect

Our couples therapy process includes:

1. Intake Session (90 mins): Understanding your relationship history and current challenges
2. Individual Sessions: Deep-dive into each partner’s personal history, family legacy, and relational blueprint
3. Joint Sessions: Practicing relational skills in real-time, guided by the RLT framework
4. Homework & Integration: Between-session exercises to reinforce new patterns and insight

Sessions are offered virtually or in person (based in Metro Atlanta), and can be booked as:

• Biweekly sessions
• Half-day intensives for accelerated growth (coming soon!)
• Weekend couples intensives
